The Black Child Book Fair

The Book Fair travels across the United States looking to improve literacy in Black communities by promoting Black authors and their books. It’s also a unique chance for many Black and brown children to meet authors and to see characters in books that look like themselves.

Come visit and experience the 2022 Black Child Book Fair during its tour stop in Atlanta on Saturday, November 5th from 10am – 4pm at Scott Elementary School, 1752 Hollywood Rd, NW, Atlanta, Georgia.

This event provides a chance to meet authors and learn about featured books. It’s a chance for Black and Brown children to see authors that actually look like themselves, and opening the books to see themselves in the books.

The Black Child Book Fair Tour is the brainchild of Darryl Harvey, a Chicagoan who created the event to showcase positive new millennium literature written for African American children by African American authors.
